Lal Singh Sulhani’s book - Sahib Shri Kanshi Ram and Panthic Leaders – launched in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, February 16, 2025: Renowned writer and social activist Lal Singh Sulhani, who dedicated himself to social service by leaving his government job nearly 35 years ago under the guidance of Sahib Kanshi Ram Ji, was honoured at a special event held at the District Library, Ferozepur. The event, organized by Lok Chetna Vikas Manch (Regd.) with the support of the District Language Officer and District Library, marked the release and discussion of Sulhani’s latest book, "Sahib Kanshi Ram and Panthic Leaders."
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Avtar Singh Karimpuri, former Rajya Sabha MP, praised Sulhani’s unwavering commitment to the social revolution initiated by Kanshi Ram Ji, both through activism and his writings.
The event saw the presence of several prominent intellectuals and literary figures. Dr. Avtar Singh Karimpuri was the chief guest, while the session was presided over by Jathedar Gurdeep Singh, former editor of Aj Di Awaaz. The panel of distinguished guests included Fateh Jang Singh (Chandigarh), writer Gurmeet Kariyalvi, educationist Om Prakash Saroye, District Language Officer Dr. Jagdeep Singh Sandhu, poet Harmeet Vidyarthi, and the book’s author Lal Singh Sulhani.
The program was conducted by Dr. Rameshwar Singh Katara, who emphasized the book’s significance. Dr. Jagdeep Singh Sandhu welcomed the attendees, describing the book as a unique contribution to literature. Folk singer Gur Lagan from Bathinda performed a soulful song highlighting the importance of books.
The book was formally launched by a panel including Omkar Nath, Dr. Harpreet Singh (Bathinda), UK-based writer Jaswinder Ratti, Makhan Singh Sauna, Gyan Saidpuri Shahkot, and Lovepreet Singh (Dubai). Fateh Jang Singh termed the book a testament to the deep connection between Kanshi Ram, Lal Singh Sulhani, and Panthic leadership. Writer Gurmeet Kariyalvi remarked that the author has drawn inspiration from Sikh history and Gurbani. Om Prakash Saroye lauded Sulhani’s empathy for the oppressed and marginalized.
On this occasion, Rajinder Singh, Chairman of Manav Seva Society (Bathinda), and Simran Kaur, MC Bathinda, honoured the distinguished guests and speakers. Poet Harmeet Vidyarthi highlighted how Bahujan philosophy aligns with Gurbani’s principles, warning against divisive forces attempting to mislead society.

The three-and-a-half-hour-long session witnessed participation from various intellectuals, writers, and social activists from across Punjab, including Karnail Singh Bhavra, Gurinder Pal Singh Sulhani, Jaswinder Singh Sulhani, Gurdial Singh Virk, Sukhdev Singh Bhatti, and many others.
