Former IAS officer Dr. Amarpal Singh takes charge as Chairman, PSEB

Chandigarh, March 6, 2025 – Dr. Amarpal Singh, a retired IAS officer (2008 batch) and former PCS officer (1993 batch), has officially assumed charge as Chairman of the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB).
Hailing from Nabha, Patiala, Dr. Singh comes from a distinguished family of educators and public servants.
His father, Dr. Bachittar Singh, served as Director of Health Services, Punjab, while his mother, Jaswant Kaur, was a State Award-winning principal in the Punjab Education Department.
Dr. Singh has held several key positions in the Punjab Government and UT Administration, including:
- Secretary-cum-CEO of Punjab State Board of Technical Education
- Director of Higher Education, Punjab
- MD, PUNSUP
- State Transport Commissioner
- Director of Disaster Management
His work has earned him multiple national awards, and his leadership in various departments has been widely recognized.Upon assuming charge, Dr. Singh called education the foundation of human life and pledged to strengthen the board's credibility.
The board’s Secretary, Parleen Kaur Brar (PCS), along with senior officials and employee representatives, welcomed Dr. Singh and expressed confidence in his leadership to bring positive reforms to PSEB.
