DC, SSP releases Calendar for 20th Kabaddi Cup in Ferozepur’s village Jhoke Hari Har
Ferozepur, March 6, 2025: The 20th Kabaddi Cup tournament poster, dedicated to Baba Kala Mehr Ji, at village Jhoke Hari Har under the campaign "War Against Drugs" by the Punjab government, was released by Deputy Commissioner Deep Shikha Sharma and Senior Superintendent of Police Bhupinder Singh Sidhu, appealing to the youth to stay away from drugs and participate in sports.
The tournament is being organized by Baba Kala Mehar Youth Club under the leadership of President Mandeep Singh Sandhu and the preparations for the 20th Open Kabaddi Cup are in full swing.
Club Vice President Gurmeet Singh Sandhu (Karma) stated that all arrangements for the state-level Kabaddi Cup have been completed. The religious proceedings began with the Shri Akhand Path Sahib on March 6, with the concluding ceremony and devotional gathering on March 8. Renowned Raagi and Dhadi Jathas will present Gurbani Kirtan and Sikh history during the event.
On March 8, the Girls' Open Kabaddi Cup will take place, with teams from Punjab and Haryana participating. The winning team will be awarded ₹31,000, while the runner-up will receive ₹21,000.
For boys, a 60 kg weight category village-level tournament will be held, featuring two guest players per team. The winner will receive ₹18,000, and the runner-up will be awarded ₹13,000.
The Open Kabaddi Cup for men will be held on March 9, featuring top players of Punjab's traditional sport. The winning team will receive ₹91,000, and the runner-up will be awarded ₹71,000. The best raider and stopper will be honored with a Ford tractor.
The organizers have appealed to spectators to attend the event in large numbers and urged players to showcase their best performances. Special langar arrangements have been made for players and spectators.
