Sehatmand Punjab: CM Mann lays foundation for Sri Sukhmani Medical College in Dera Bassi

Dera Bassi (Mohali), March 6, 2025 – Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann reaffirmed his government’s commitment to strengthening the healthcare sector by laying the foundation stone of Sri Sukhmani Institute of Medical Sciences and Research in Dera Bassi.
He emphasized that the "Sehatmand Punjab" mission is successfully delivering quality healthcare services across the state.
The Chief Minister highlighted that medical colleges are being established across various districts, ensuring students can pursue medical education within Punjab.

The new medical college in Dera Bassi will be the second in Mohali district, after Dr. B.R. Ambedkar State Institute of Medical Sciences.Mann noted that 881 Aam Aadmi Clinics have already revolutionized Punjab’s healthcare landscape, ensuring that no resident is deprived of medical treatment.
Addressing students at LAMHA-2025, an event featuring youth competitions at Sri Sukhmani Institute, Mann stressed that youth festivals play a crucial role in shaping personalities and careers.
Drawing from his own experience as a student, he encouraged young individuals to use these platforms for personal and professional growth.
Comparing the government’s efforts to airport runways that enable smooth takeoff, Mann said his administration is creating opportunities for Punjab’s youth to realize their dreams.He urged students to remain focused, hardworking, and humble, stating that self-confidence without arrogance is the key to success.
With a vision for a healthier and more empowered Punjab, Mann reiterated that his government is committed to strengthening healthcare, expanding education, and fostering youth development.
