Amritsar, March 11, 2025:
Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj, the acting Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, has issued an appeal to the Sikh community regarding the upcoming Hola Mohalla festival. He emphasized the significance of this festival as a vital part of Sikh heritage, symbolizing enthusiasm and the spirit of 'Chardi Kala' (eternal optimism). He urged all Sikhs to actively participate in the festivities at Sri Anandpur Sahib, the birthplace of the Khalsa, and to adhere to the teachings and commandments of the Gurus during these celebrations.
In his message, Giani Gargaj called upon the community to maintain unity and discipline, reflecting the true essence of Sikhism. He encouraged devotees to bow before the Guru with a sense of surrender and to follow the Guru's orders diligently. This appeal comes in light of recent events, including his early morning installation as the Jathedar amid protests from various Sikh organizations and Nihang groups, who opposed the removal of the previous Jathedars.
Despite these challenges, Giani Gargaj's focus remains on fostering community cohesion and ensuring that the Hola Mohalla festival is celebrated with devotion, enthusiasm, and in accordance with Sikh traditions.
