Chandigarh, April 23, 2025: The Haryana Government will organize a State-Level Gram Utthan Sammelan at Tau Devi Lal Stadium, Panchkula, on April 24, 2025, coinciding with National Panchayati Raj Day. The event aims to strengthen Panchayati Raj Institutions and promote public welfare across the state.
Chief Minister Sh Nayab Singh Saini will inaugurate the Sammelan as the Chief Guest, while Development and Panchayats Minister Sh Krishan Lal Panwar will preside over the event.
This Sammelan holds special significance. In addition to providing key insights into the functioning of Panchayats, fund utilization, and real-time monitoring of development projects, the beneficiaries of the Social Security Pension Scheme will also get a big gift. As part of the ongoing commitment to social welfare, social security pensions will be distributed by the Chief Minister to 41,591 new beneficiaries identified in the month of March. This initiative is a major step towards expanding the coverage of social security for eligible citizens in the state.
Currently, the Haryana Government is disbursing pension and financial assistance to 34,95,507 beneficiaries under various social welfare schemes. These benefits are directly transferred into beneficiaries' bank accounts through the PFMS, ensuring transparency and efficiency.
Significant participation of women Panchayat representatives will become a symbol of empowerment
This event will prove to be a decisive step towards promoting rural development, administrative efficiency and transparency. Thousands of Panchayati Raj representatives from across the state will participate in this Sammelan, in which special and remarkable participation of women representatives will be seen. This will serve as a testament to the government's unwavering commitment to women's empowerment.
The objective of this Sammelan is not only to strengthen the Panchayati Raj institutions, but also to make the public representatives across the state, especially women representatives, more effective and self-reliant by giving them detailed information about their rights, duties and schemes. This initiative will mark a significant milestone in enhancing the decision-making capabilities of the Panchayats.
