AAP’s mega cleanliness drive continues, Ministers and MLAs hit the streets with brooms in Ludhiana
Minister Mundian Appeals to People to Join Hands to Make This a Public Movement

Ludhiana (Punjab), April 26, 2025: Reaffirming the Punjab government’s commitment to maintaining proper sanitation and public hygiene, Cabinet Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian, along with all city MLAs and the Mayor, carried out a massive cleanliness drive across Ludhiana on Saturday.
The drive began at Jamalpur Chowk on Chandigarh Road, led by Punjab Housing and Urban Development Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian, with city MLAs kicking off the campaign in their respective constituencies.
Ludhiana South MLA Rajinder Pal Kaur Chhina initiated the drive from Dholewal Chowk, Atam Nagar MLA Kulwant Singh Sidhu from Bhagwan Chowk on Gill Road, Ludhiana Central MLA Ashok Prashar Pappi from Shagun Palace, and Ludhiana North MLA from Bal Singh Nagar.
Additionally, Ludhiana East MLA Daljit Singh Bhola Grewal and Mayor Principal Inderjit Kaur launched the drive from Vardhman Chowk, Chandigarh Road.Councillors, including Aman Bagga and Nidhi Gupta, also actively participated in the cleanliness campaign.
In support of the initiative, civic body officials, including MC Commissioner Aaditya Dachalwal, Additional Commissioner Paramdeep Singh, Joint Commissioners Ankur Mahindroo and Abhishek Sharma, and Zonal Commissioners Neeraj Jain and Gurpal Singh, joined the drive.
This ongoing cleanliness drive will cover all wards of the city in the coming days. The focus will include not only cleaning roads and parks but also addressing sewer lines and road gullies to ensure smooth public service during the summer season. Additionally, fogging will be carried out to protect residents from vector-borne diseases.
The campaign, spearheaded by the state government, will include regular sanitation activities, waste management programs, and community engagement efforts throughout Ludhiana.
In a heartfelt gesture to Ludhiana’s unsung heroes, Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian personally distributed tea and sweets to sanitation workers while launching the drive at Jamalpur Chowk on Saturday morning.
He praised their tireless efforts in maintaining the city’s cleanliness and hygiene.
Minister Mundian, along with the city MLAs and Mayor, urged all Ludhiana residents to join this noble cause.
They called for active participation in the cleanliness drive by segregating waste, adopting eco-friendly practices, and helping make Ludhiana a model of cleanliness and greenery.
The leaders also appealed to the public to support the local authorities and state government by refraining from dumping waste in open spaces or plots.
They encouraged residents to embrace this cleanliness initiative, transforming it into a public movement for a cleaner and healthier Ludhiana.
