Security tightened at Ferozepur Railway Station amid heightened tensions post-operation Sandoor
Ferozepur, May 7, 2025: In the wake of recent escalations following India's counter-terrorist action under Operation Sandoor, extensive security checks were carried out today at Ferozepur Cantonment Railway Station to prevent any untoward incidents and ensure public safety.
As per the directions of Special DGP Railways, Punjab, Shashi Prabha Dwivedi, and under the supervision of Dy.SP Jagmohan Singh, Sub-Division Ferozepur, a joint security operation was conducted by GRP led by SHO Naveen Kumar, in coordination with RPF personnel and the Anti-Sabotage Team.
The thorough inspection covered key areas of the station, including the railway yard, parking zones, booking counters, cycle/scooter stands, parcel office, platforms, and incoming and outgoing trains. Passengers were also closely screened as part of the high-alert protocol.
The action comes in response to heightened threats following India's military operation targeting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan, and aims to pre-empt any retaliatory or disruptive acts at vital transportation hubs in Punjab. Authorities have assured continued vigilance and urged the public to cooperate during security procedures.
