Distt Admn urges public to beware of fake recruitment messages viral on social media
Ferozepur, May 12, 2025: The Punjab Police has issued a strong advisory warning against a fake recruitment message on WhatsApp and other social media platforms. The false message claims that unemployed youth can visit the Saragarhi Gurdwara in Ferozepur on May 12 with their 10th and 12th class certificates and Aadhaar card for direct recruitment.
Ferozepur DSP Fateh Singh Brar, in a video statement, dismissed the message as completely false and urged the public to stay alert and not fall prey to such misinformation. “This is baseless and misleading. No such recruitment is being held,” he clarified.
Deputy Commissioner of Ferozepur, Deepshikha Sharma, also appealed to the public with a clear message: "Share only after knowing the true side of every story. Do not spread fake or misleading news—it causes unnecessary panic among the public." She emphasised the importance of verifying any news from official and reliable sources before forwarding it further.
The Punjab Police has advised citizens to contact the control room or the concerned authorities if they receive any doubtful messages or social media forwards. Spreading fake news not only misleads people but also creates unnecessary anxiety and confusion.
The administration has requested everyone to act responsibly and help maintain peace and trust in the community.
