Punjab Police Bust Narco-Hawala Nexus, Seize 12.07 Kg Heroin and ₹25.12 Lakh

Ferozepur, May 22, 2025: In a significant crackdown on the narco-hawala nexus, the Ferozepur Police, under the direction of Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav, dismantled a drug smuggling module, arresting three individuals. The operation led to the recovery of 12.07 kg of heroin and ₹25.12 lakh in cash linked to drug trafficking and hawala operations.
According to a tweet by DGP Gaurav Yadav, the arrests were made in Ferozepur, and a First Information Report (FIR) has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at the Ghall Khurd Police Station. The police are conducting further investigations to uncover forward and backward linkages in the smuggling network.
This operation marks a significant step in Punjab Police’s ongoing efforts to curb drug trafficking and related financial networks in the state. Authorities have not disclosed the identities of the arrested individuals, and the investigation is ongoing to dismantle the broader network involved.
