Extreme Poverty in India down from 27.1% to 5.3%: World Bank
New Delhi, June 7, 2025: In a sensational disclosure World Bank has issued its Poverty report of June 2025 which has disclosed that during last 11 years from 2011 to 2022, Extreme Poverty in India has dropped from 27.1% to 5.3%. According to report, India’s 344.41 million people were in Extreme poverty in 2011 and now this figure stands at 75.22 million in 2022.
It has further disclosed that under PM Narendra Modi many initiatives have lead to reduction in poverty in rural as well as urban areas.
