"Yudh Nashiyan Virudh" - Village Ransinh Kalan responds to Chief Minister's Call
DC reiterates commitment to eradicate drugs,offers cash & food aid to youth quitting drugs
Moga, June 7, 2025: In response to Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann's call to eradicate drugs from the state and society, the villagers of Ransinh Kalan in Moga district have taken a significant step. Under the leadership of the district administration, the village has decided to provide financial support to youth who have overcome drug addiction.
The villagers have decided to give ₹11,000 each to youth who have quit drugs. Additionally, they will provide a monthly food allowance of ₹1,100 to those undergoing treatment. Deputy Commissioner Sagar Setia distributed the amount to the beneficiaries at the village.
The village has taken this initiative to support the Punjab government's "Yudh Nashiyan Virudh" campaign. So far, 30 families who have completely overcome drug addiction have received ₹11,000 each as an incentive. The panchayat has also started providing a monthly food allowance of ₹1,100 to youth undergoing treatment.
Deputy Commissioner Sagar Setia praised the panchayat's efforts, saying they have set an example for others to follow. He expressed pride in the panchayat's work and encouraged other panchayats in the district to take similar initiatives to make their villages drug-free.
On this occasion, the Deputy Commissioner also distributed appreciation certificates to the families who have overcome drug addiction. He reiterated the commitment to eradicate drugs from every village, town, and city in the district, as per the Punjab government's guidelines.
The Deputy Commissioner appealed to the people of Moga district to support the "War Against Drugs" campaign and cooperate with the state government and district administration in making Punjab drug-free.
