Haryana Olympic Association issues advisory against unrecognized Sports events, warns players

Panchkula (Haryana, June 9, 2025: Taking a strong stance against the increasing number of unrecognized sports events being organized across the state, the Haryana Olympic Association (HOA) has issued a strict advisory to athletes and officials.
In a letter released by HOA President Captain Jaswinder Meenu Bainiwal, players have been cautioned that competitions organized by unrecognized bodies do not hold any official status and will not be considered for state or national-level recognition.
Athletes have been advised to use their discretion before participating in such events.
District Officials Also Warned
The advisory also includes a directive to district Olympic association secretaries and district sports officers, strictly instructing them not to participate—directly or indirectly—in any unrecognized events.
The association has warned that disciplinary action will be taken against any official found violating these instructions.
Players Urged to Verify Event Accreditation
The HOA has appealed to all sportspersons to verify the accreditation status of any event before participating, and to compete only in officially sanctioned tournaments.
The association emphasized that this is crucial to safeguarding the players’ careers and ensuring their achievements are formally recognized.This move is seen as a significant step by the Haryana Olympic Association to uphold the standards, integrity, and transparency of sports in the state.
