“Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan” - PAU-KVK promotes modern farming practices under
PAU-KVK links 2000 scientists with 1.5 Cr farmers for Pre-Kharif Crop tips, feedback
Ferozepur, June 9, 2025: Under the Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan initiated by the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana, the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Ferozepur has been conducting a series of activities since May 29, 2025, in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare and other related organizations. These initiatives, guided by the Director of Extension Education at PAU, Ludhiana, and aligned with directives from the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare and ICAR, New Delhi, aim to spread advanced agricultural knowledge and gather feedback from farmers.
The primary goal of this nationwide campaign is to connect over 2,000 agricultural scientists with 1.5 crore farmers to provide pre-kharif season crop advisories and obtain their feedback. As part of this mission, KVK Ferozepur, along with other departmental teams, organized farmer-scientist interactions on June 9, 2025, at villages Husainiwala, Dullewala, Bareke, Jalalwala, Machhiwara, and Suba Jadid in the Ferozepur district.
Led by Dr. Gurmail Singh, Deputy Director (Training) of KVK Ferozepur, the teams briefed farmers about the objectives of the Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan, various government schemes, and distributed informative literature. The KVK scientists Dr. Bhallan Singh Sekhon, Dr. Simranjit Kaur, and Dr. Harpreet Kaur, along with technical staff members Mr. Jasbir Singh and Mr. Deepak Kumar, participated in these camps.
The experts not only shared insights about kharif crops but also motivated farmers to explore farm-related enterprises for increased income. The team collected valuable feedback from farmers at the end of the camps and expressed gratitude to all participants. Farmers were encouraged to stay connected with KVK Ferozepur to make the most of the available agricultural services.
