Punjab: Miscreant sets bank on fire using petrol, incident caught on CCTV

Gurdaspur (Punjab), June 10, 2025: A major incident occurred in the village of Gandhian, under the jurisdiction of Dinanagar police station in Gurdaspur, Punjab, where an unidentified person attempted to set fire to a branch of Punjab & Sind Bank late at night.
The entire act was captured on CCTV cameras installed outside the bank.
Speaking to the media, bank manager Sandeep Attari stated, “As usual, we closed the bank in the evening and went home. Early this morning, we received a call informing us that the bank was on fire. When we reached the site, we found that the flex board outside the bank and all nearby electrical wires were completely burned.”
Upon reviewing the bank’s CCTV footage, it was found that around midnight, a young man arrived carrying a can of petrol.He poured the petrol on the bank premises and then set it ablaze before fleeing the scene. The incident was clearly recorded by the security cameras.
