Ludhiana (Punjab), June 13, 2025: Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring today said the winds of change in Punjab will start blowing from Ludhiana West. He said the Congress will win the by-election with a record margin.
In an informal interaction with reporters here today, when asked about the party’s chances in the by-election, Warring remarked, “writing is on the wall and you can notice it yourself that there is no doubt about Congress winning the seat”.
He said, wherever he goes and whoever he meets, tells him only one thing that the Congress was on the way back while the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) was on the way out.
He noted that there was a reason for such pro-Congress sentiment as people were fed up with the massive failure of the AAP government. He said the law and order was at its worst in the state. He said, the media was not reporting the level of crime that has been taking place in Punjab.
The PCC president said that there was a strong undercurrent against the government in Punjab and this will be reflected in voting on June 19.
He observed, people may be attending the AAP meetings for multiple reasons since the AAP is in power, but if anybody can read the faces of those attending such meetings, the result would be known right away.
“Just because you manage a few hundred people to attend your meetings does not mean that they are going to vote for you”, he told the ruling party, while alleging that it was using intimidating tactics to force people to be seen with the AAP, while actually they are not.
Warring, who is also the local MP, alleged that the AAP government had still not stopped the vendetta against the Congress workers. “But we will not be deterred and the proof we will show to you on June 23, when the results will be out”, he told the AAP government.
