Tragic: Property dealer, his wife and son found Dead in SUV
Mohali June 22, 2025 – A somber scene unfolded in the fields near Chhngera village, along the Tepala-Banur national highway, where three family members were found deceased inside a Fortuner SUV under mysterious circumstances.
The victims were identified as Sandeep Singh Rajpal (45), a property dealer from MR Estate, Sector 109, Mohali, his wife Mandeep Kaur (42), and their 15-year-old son Abhay Singh.
Farm laborers spotted the suspiciously parked vehicle and alerted the police, prompting a swift response from DSP Rajpura Manjit Singh, Banur SHO Arshdeep Sharma, Investigation Officer Hardev Singh, ASI Jaswinder Pal, and forensic teams. A pistol was recovered from the SUV, and the bodies were sent to Neelam Hospital in Derabassi for post-mortem, scheduled for Monday pending the arrival of family members.
Preliminary police investigations suggest that Sandeep may have shot his wife and son before taking his own life. Authorities noted that the son had been struggling with mental health challenges.
DSP Manjit Singh emphasized that while the incident appears to be a suicide, all angles are being thoroughly investigated.
Sandeep, originally from Sikhwala village in Bathinda, had been living in Mohali for 7-8 years. His brother resides in their native village, and his sister is settled abroad, according to fam.
