Uncle-Nephew shot in Ferozepur after death threats; 6 booked
Ferozepur, June 24, 2025: In a shocking incident in Bazidpur village of Ferozepur, a man and his nephew were shot by armed assailants following death threats received over a phone call. The incident occurred around 9:25 PM on Monday.
According to police sources, the accused, identified as Lovepreet Singh, had earlier threatened the victim's family over a WhatsApp call made at 9:18 PM to Lakhwinder Singh. During the call, Lovepreet reportedly said he would eliminate the entire family.
Just seven minutes after the threat, Lovepreet Singh arrived in a car along with five accomplices—Gurjeet Singh, Harman Singh, Prabhdeep Singh, Anmoldeep Singh, and one unidentified person. The group opened fire on Surinder Singh and his nephew Kulwinder Singh. Surinder was shot in the chest, while Kulwinder sustained a bullet injury in his right arm.
Both victims were rushed to Amandeep Genesis Hospital. As per doctors, Surinder Singh’s condition is critical.
Acting on Kulwinder Singh’s complaint, the Kulgadi police station registered a case under Sections 109, 191(3), 190 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with Sections 25, 27, 54, and 59 of the Arms Act and Sections 307, 148, and 149 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Investigating Officer Nirmal Singh stated that an old enmity could be a possible motive behind the attack. All six accused are currently absconding, and police teams are actively working to trace and arrest them.
