South Australian Parliament honours Firozepur Foundation Founder Laroia for humanitarian work
Ferozepur/ Adelaide (Australia), July 2, 2025: In a proud moment for India and Punjab, Shalinder Laroia, Founder of Firozpur Foundation, a Punjab-based humanitarian organisation, was formally honoured at the South Australian Parliament House, Adelaide on 2nd July 2025.
The honour was conferred by the Hon. Michelle Lensink MLC, in recognition of Laroia’s dedicated efforts to uplift underprivileged families and communities in India. He was joined on the occasion by Kanwaldeep (KD) Singh, Trustee of MILAAP, a multicultural initiative in South Australia that works to highlight and celebrate individuals making meaningful contributions to society.
Through MILAAP’s efforts, Mr. Laroia’s inspiring journey reached key leaders and changemakers in Australia, bridging communities beyond borders.
Hon. Michelle Lensink praised Laroia’s tireless commitment to humanity, describing Firozpur Foundation as “a shining example of grassroots action creating a global impact.”
Laroia was presented with a token of appreciation and given a special guided tour of the South Australian Parliament House, including insights into its rich architectural and legislative heritage.
Expressing his gratitude, Laroia said, “This recognition is truly humbling. The warmth and affection shown here make South Australia feel like a second home. It inspires me to further expand our Foundation’s outreach and continue serving those in need.”
