Green drive and NCC launch held at PM Shri KV2 in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, July 2, 2025: PM SHRI KV2 Ferozepur Cantt marked Vanmahotsav on July 2, 2025, with an enthusiastic celebration that included a major tree plantation drive and the launch of a new NCC unit. The chief guest of the function, Chairman of the Vidyalaya Management Committee (VMC) along with his wife, planted saplings at the school campus and emphasized the importance of environmental conservation to students and staff.
The green initiative, launched under the KVS and the Government of India’s flagship program ‘Ek Pedh Maa Ke Naam’, aims to plant at least 150 trees during the week. Students, accompanied by their mothers, planted saplings and pledged to nurture them in the name of both their mothers and Mother Nature.
On the same occasion, the newly established NCC Junior Wing/Junior Division (JW/JD) comprising 15 girl cadets and 10 boy cadets for the academic session 2025–26 was formally inaugurated, marking a new milestone in the school’s history. This is the first NCC unit at KV2 Ferozepur Cantt since its establishment in 1987, returning after a gap of 38 years.
Distinguished guests at the event included Mrs. Shuchi Goyal, wife of the Chairman VMC; Lt. Col. Anoop Birmhan, Nominee Chairman VMC; DC Kamlesh Kumar BSF; Dr. Gurdeep Singh, Principal; Mr. Ashok Kumar Mittal, PGT Computer Science; Mrs. Davinder Kaur, TGT Science; Mr. Tilak Raj, TGT Hindi; and Ms. Arshdeep Kaur, TGT English and CTO NCC Wing.
Distinguished guests at the event were present. The school Principal extended gratitude to all dignitaries and emphasized the school’s commitment to supporting national initiatives that aim to enhance greenery and sustain the environment.
