Breaking: Retired DSP opens fire on first wife, son and daugther-in-law outside police station

Amritsar (Punjab), July 4, 2025: In a shocking incident that has stunned Amritsar, a retired CRPF Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Tarsem Singh, opened fire on his first wife, son, and daughter-in-law outside a local police station.
All three victims have sustained serious injuries and are currently undergoing treatment at a hospital.
According to ACP North, IPS Rishabh Bhola, the accused, a resident of Rajasansi, was immediately apprehended by police personnel stationed at a nearby checkpoint following the shooting. He has since been presented at the Majitha Road Police Station.
Preliminary investigations reveal that family disputes over property led to the violent outburst.Tarsem Singh, who has been married twice, had long-standing tensions with his first wife and son. The weapon used in the attack was reportedly licensed.
Officials confirmed that the condition of the son is critical, while the others are under observation. Police have launched a full investigation into the incident.
