Bathinda (Punjab), July 10, 2025: Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) Working Committee member and Senior Vice President Mohit Gupta launched a scathing attack on the Aam Aadmi Party-led Punjab government, alleging a complete breakdown of law and order in the state and demanding the immediate resignation of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
Referring to a spate of disturbing incidents—including a ₹20 lakh loot in Bathinda, the recovery of 40 kg heroin, the brutal murder of a cloth merchant in Abohar, and the suspicious police encounter of two youths later named in the same case—Gupta said the state has plunged into chaos under the AAP regime.
“Killings, lootings, gangster threats, and extortion have become a daily affair in Punjab. The Mann government is nowhere to be seen. The Chief Minister must step down if he has even an ounce of accountability,” Gupta thundered.
He accused the AAP government of failing on every front—law and order, employment, women’s welfare, and the fight against drugs.
“Not a single guarantee made during elections has been fulfilled. Women still wait for ₹1,000 monthly aid, the unemployed remain abandoned, and jobs are nowhere in sight. Drug trafficking is thriving, and yet the government continues to parade false narratives of development,” he said.
Mohit Gupta also condemned what he termed as a "diversion tactic" by the state—referring to the filing of a "fabricated" case against former minister Bikram Singh Majithia.
“The Mann government is using legal intimidation to cover up its failures, but it will be held accountable in court,” he added.
Calling for renewed grassroots activism, Gupta urged all SAD workers and leaders to go door-to-door across Punjab to expose the AAP government's failures and remind people of the development work undertaken during previous SAD administrations.
“The entire leadership of the Shiromani Akali Dal is energized and committed to Punjab’s progress. We will not rest until SAD returns to power and restores stability, dignity, and growth to the state,” Gupta said.
He was accompanied by Halkaur Singh Babli Dhillon, Urban President Rajwinder Singh, Party Spokesperson Chamkaur Singh Mann, and several other leaders.
