- Punjab Govt introduces new bill to prevent desecration of sacred religious texts

  Chandigarh, July 14, 2025 –Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann introduced the Punjab Prevention of Crimes against Holy Religious Scriptures Bill, 2025 in the Vidhan Sabha on Monday. The bill provides for strict punishment for those who desecrate the holy scripture of any religion.
  
  Chief Minister Mann said that this step has been taken towards strengthening religious tolerance and preventing incidents that hurt any kind of religious sentiment.
