Educate Punjab Project adopts 9 villages for flood relief, rehabilitation in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, September 11, 2025: Heavy rains in the upper hills, coupled with the release of excess water from dams, have triggered floods in several border villages of Punjab, causing large-scale damage to life, crops, and property. In response, the Educate Punjab Project has stepped forward with a comprehensive initiative to provide relief and long-term rehabilitation to the affected families of 9 villages.
Under this campaign, the organization has decided to adopt 9 flood-hit villages in district Ferozepur to ensure continuous assistance for their recovery. Relief measures include the distribution of food supplies, clean drinking water, medicines, and other essential items. To protect the livelihood base of villagers, arrangements have also been made for adequate fodder for cattle.
For long-term rehabilitation, a special plan has been drawn up to support the resettlement and development of affected areas. The plan includes providing seeds, urea, and herbicides for re-sowing damaged crops; repairing houses; compensating for livestock losses; supplying fodder machines and medicines to prevent post-flood diseases; and organizing medical camps. In addition, the school fees for the children of these villages for the academic session 2025–26 will be borne by the Educate Punjab Project.
The villages adopted under this initiative include - Basti Kishan Singh, Kale Ke Hithar, Baggewala, Bagguwala, Rukne Wala, Kutabdin Wala, Dheera Ghara, Talli Gulam and Nihala Lavera.
Through these sustained efforts, the Educate Punjab Project aims to help flood-affected villages regain stability and rebuild their socio-economic lives. For support and contributions, any individual donor can contact them over phones 98155-47198, +91 89681-99993.
