MLA Bhullar launches Govt paddy procurement at Ferozepur
Ferozepur, September 23, 2025: With the arrival of paddy in the district’s grain markets, government procurement began today. Ferozepur City MLA Ranbir Singh Bhullar formally inaugurated the procurement drive at the Ferozepur City grain market by distributing sweets to farmers.
Speaking on the occasion, Bhullar said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab government is committed to providing every facility to farmers in the mandis. He assured that during the current season, farmers, commission agents, and laborers will not face any difficulties. Adequate arrangements have been made for paddy arrival, purchase, lifting, and timely payment. The government will purchase every grain of the farmers’ produce, he added.
Officials of all procurement agencies have been directed to ensure smooth operations, including availability of gunny bags, transportation, electricity, drinking water, sanitation, and toilets, while strictly following government guidelines.
Bhullar urged farmers to harvest only fully ripened crops to maintain the prescribed 17% moisture level and appealed to them to avoid stubble burning, instead using farm machinery provided by the Agriculture Department for eco-friendly residue management.
Among those present were DFSC Jitin Verma, District Mandi Officer Jasmeet Singh Brar, Market Committee Chairman Balraj Singh Katora, Secretary Bikramjit Singh, Arhtiya Association President Tilak Raj, and officials of the Market Committee and Food Supplies Department.
