Madurai, September 26, 2025: In yet another alarming attempt to rattle the country’s judiciary, the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court has received a bomb threat. After similar threats to the Delhi and Bombay High Courts earlier this month, panic gripped the court premises today when a threat email was received.
Security agencies swung into action immediately, evacuating the entire court complex as a precautionary measure. The CISF and Bomb Disposal Squad carried out a thorough search of the premises. Judges, lawyers, staff members, and visitors were escorted out safely. The incident caused a large crowd to gather outside, leading to traffic congestion in the area. So far, no suspicious object has been found.
A Pattern Emerging?
The incident has raised serious concerns, as it appears to follow a disturbing pattern:
- September 12, 2025: Both the Delhi High Court and the Bombay High Court received bomb threats on the same day.
- Threats via email: In all cases, the threats were delivered through emails, forcing evacuation and suspension of proceedings.
- Delhi scare proved false: Later investigations revealed the Delhi High Court threat to be a hoax.
Police and security agencies are now investigating whether a single individual or organization is behind all three threats. Authorities are examining whether this is a mischievous act or part of a larger conspiracy aimed at instilling fear in the judicial system.
Targeting three major High Courts in just one month has become a major challenge for security forces.
