Kulbir Zira predicts political shift in 2027 polls - 24 families join Congress
Zira/Ferozepur, October 22, 2025: As many as 24 families from the Arazi Sabhra village have quit their respective parties and joined the Congress. The induction took place under the leadership of former MLA Kulbir Singh Zira, who welcomed the new members with traditional siropas (robe of honour).
Those who joined the Congress include supporters of Harbhajan Singh Sabhra, Mehr Singh Baharwali, and Baldev Singh Fauji, who played a key role in encouraging the shift.
Addressing the gathering, Kulbir Singh Zira said that the downfall of the respective political parties has begun, as people have now seen through their false promises and anti-Punjab policies.
He further stated that the people of Punjab eagerly await the 2027 Assembly elections to bring change. Taking a dig at the Shiromani Akali Dal, he said that the party’s base in Punjab has eroded completely, and the public no longer trusts its leadership.
Welcoming the new entrants, Zira assured them that the Congress Party would give full respect and recognition to every worker and supporter, reaffirming confidence that the Congress would form a strong government in Punjab in 2027
