Aditya Uppal Deputy Commissioner and Aditya SSP Gurdaspur visited the villages of Kalanaur block for the second consecutive day and appealed to the farmers not to burn crop residue and to manage stubble.
On this occasion, the Deputy Commissioner and SSP Gurdaspur extinguished the fire that broke out in the fields of village Bakshiwal, Naranwali and Kalanaur on the spot on the way.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that all the sub-divisional magistrates, police officers, teams of Stubble Protection Force, cluster and nodal officers of the district are going from village to village to meet the farmers and are appealing not to burn stubble and for stubble management.
He said that the necessary machinery is available in the district for stubble management. Many farmers in the district are cooperating with the administration. The farmers are making stubble bales under stubble management, which is a very good initiative.
He said that but some farmers are violating the instructions issued by the Honorable Supreme Court and the National Green Tribunal, against whom strict legal action is being taken. He said that the administration is strict against those who burn stubble and legal action will be taken against those who burn crop residues.
He said that if any farmer faces any problem in stubble management, then he can contact the control room number 01874-266376 established at the district level. Agricultural machinery will be provided to those farmers by the cluster and nodal officers posted in the villages.
Earlier, he met the farmers at Adda Joran Chhattran and appealed for stubble management.
On this occasion, SSP Gurdaspur Aditya said that the police department is continuously motivating the farmers for stubble management.
The SSP said that if any farmer still violates the instructions issued by the honorable National Green Tribunal, strict action will be taken against him. He said that FIRs have been registered against those who burn crop residues by the Gurdaspur Police.
