Tarn Taran (Punjab), November 8, 2025: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Saturday campaigned for Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate Harmeet Singh Sandhu in Panjwad, Thathi Sohal, and Jhabal Kalan, where large crowds turned out to hear him.
Addressing the gatherings, Mann launched a sharp attack on the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and the Congress, accusing both parties of misgovernance and corruption. He said that while earlier regimes “sold Punjab’s assets for personal gain,” the AAP government was “reclaiming Punjab’s pride and resources.”
“The Congress’s hand is stained with blood, and the Akalis traded Punjab’s soul for greed,” Mann said, adding that his government had purchased the GVK thermal plant and renamed it after Guru Amardas Ji “to restore honour to the state’s institutions.”
Targeting senior opposition leaders Sukhbir Singh Badal, Bikram Singh Majithia, Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, and Partap Singh Bajwa, the Chief Minister said none had “moral authority” to speak about Punjab’s welfare.
He also referred to the sacrilege and police firing incidents at Bargari, Behbal Kalan, and Kotkapura, saying that those responsible “cannot hide behind false promises.”
Highlighting his government’s achievements, Mann said that nearly 59,000 government jobs had been provided on merit, teachers were being sent abroad for training, and farmers were receiving uninterrupted daytime power supply.
“In almost four years, no one can accuse Bhagwant Mann of corruption,” he said.
He added that the traditional parties were “unnerved” because for the first time, the state’s leadership came from ordinary families. “They can’t accept that a teacher’s son is running Punjab with honesty,” Mann said.
Urging voters to support Harmeet Singh Sandhu, the Chief Minister described him as a “dedicated and grounded leader committed to public service.”
