Train services affected in Feroezepur Rail Division due to station upgrade
Ferozepur, November 17, 2025: Rail traffic on the Sanahwal-Amritsar section of the Ferozepur Division will experience temporary disruptions in early January 2026 due to essential engineering works. The disruptions are necessary for the replacement of old signal gears with new Electronic Interlocking (EI) technology at Hamira station.
Northern Railways has announced that several trains will be rescheduled, regulated (delayed), short-terminated, or short-originated for a single trip around January 4th and January 6th, 2026.
The replacement of signal gears with Electronic Interlocking at Hamira station on the Sanahwal-Amritsar section of the Firozpur Division necessitates several temporary train operational changes in early January 2026. Five trains will face delays: Train No. 15707 (Katihar Jn - Amritsar, Jan 4) will be delayed by a total of 220 minutes, and Train No. 14674 (Amritsar - Jaynagar, Jan 6) by 70 minutes. Three other trains—22429 (Delhi Jn. – Pathankot, Jan 6), 11057 (CSMT - Amritsar, Jan 4), and 19612 (Amritsar - Ajmer Jn, Jan 6)—will be regulated with a 30-minute enroute delay each. Additionally, four pairs of services will be short-terminated or short-originated: Train Nos. 22445/22446 (Kanpur Central-Amritsar-Kanpur Central, Jan 5/6) and 12029/12030 (New Delhi-Amritsar Shatabdi, Jan 6) will be partially cancelled between Jalandhar City and Amritsar. Train Nos. 12497/12498 (New Delhi-Amritsar-New Delhi, Jan 6) will be short-terminated/originated at Phagwara Jn, and local services 64551/64552 will be short-terminated/originated at Kartarpur on January 6, 2026.
