Punjabi Month 2025: DLO addresses students on ‘Contemporary Punjabi Language & Literature’

Ferozepur Cantonment, November 19, 2025: As part of Punjabi Month 2025, the Postgraduate Department of Punjabi at DAV College for Women, Ferozepur Cantonment, organised a meaningful lecture on the theme “Contemporary Punjabi Language and Literature” under the guidance of Principal Dr Seema Arora. Dr Jagdeep Singh Sandhu, District Language Officer, graced the event as the keynote speaker.
Principal Dr Seema Arora welcomed Dr. Sandhu with a bouquet and appreciated his dedicated contribution toward Punjabi language and literature. In his address, Dr Sandhu connected students with words, literature and social contexts, elaborating on Punjabi literature from ancient times to the contemporary era. He encouraged students to rise above linguistic dilemmas and emphasised that connecting with literature paves the way for a constructive and meaningful life.
A book exhibition was also set up by the Punjabi Department, attracting keen interest from both teachers and students. As part of the “Pustak Daan Maha Daan” campaign initiated by the Language Department of Punjab, Department Head Dr Amritpal Kaur Sandhu donated 50 books.
The stage was efficiently conducted by Dr Amritpal Kaur Sandhu. Faculty members of the Punjabi Department and around 40 students were present at the event.
