ANTF busts drug module, Seizes 4.1 kg heroin, Juvenile among two held
Ferozepur, November 23, 2025: In a breakthrough under the Punjab Government’s anti-drug campaign ‘Yudh Nashiyan Viruddh’, the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) Ferozepur Range recovered 4 kg 100 grams of heroin and arrested two persons, including a 17-year-old juvenile with a previous criminal history, during an operation led by ASI Parminder Singh under the supervision of AIG Gurinderbir Singh Sidhu and DSP Prithipal Singh.
A case has been registered under Section 21 of the NDPS Act at Police Station ANTF SAS Nagar (Case No. 304 dated 23-11-2025).
Just three days back, 50 kg 14 grams of heroin was also recovered, and a habitual offender was arrested following a dramatic vehicle chase and brief exchange of fire on Friday.
The arrested accused have been identified as Bovin Kumar alias Bobby (19), a resident of Ladhuwala Hithar in Fazilka, and a juvenile from Hazara Ram Singh Wala who was earlier booked in a 2024 NDPS case involving 527 grams of heroin and in a 2025 attempt-to-murder case.
The police have also named Jashandeep Singh, alias Jashan and Arshdeep Singh, alias Arsh, both from Ladhuwala Hithar, as wanted in the case, and a hunt is on to nab them.
Gurinderbir Singh Sandhu, AIG ANTF, said the seized heroin was recovered from a house where the accused had stored the consignment, and two suspects managed to flee from the spot during the raid. One of the arrested is a minor, who has been sent to a juvenile home, while the other absconding suspects are believed to be linked to a developing drug network active in the Fazilka–Jalalabad belt, which is suspected to be connected with handlers operating from across the border.
He added that, unlike previous cases, this module was using a different pattern of supply and communication through mobile phones and social media, and technical evidence has been secured. The shift in smuggling routes is reportedly due to stricter policing, anti-drone systems along the border, and increased public awareness. Further arrests are expected as the search for the remaining accused continues.
He further stated that the operation marks a significant step in the ongoing drive to make Punjab drug-free, adding that further interrogation is underway to trace the wider trafficking network and more arrests are expected.
