RTA urges vehicle owners to clear pending challans;
Keep all documents updated to avoid penalties : Amandeep, RTA
Ferozepur, December 6: 2025: The Secretary, Regional Transport Authority–cum–RTO Ferozepur, Amandeep, has issued an advisory urging vehicle owners to promptly deposit their pending challans at the Regional Transport Office (RTO), Ferozepur.
He informed that challans are issued to vehicles violating the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. Under Section 167 of the Central Motor Vehicle Rules, 1989, if a challan remains unpaid beyond 90 days, the department has started blacklisting the concerned vehicles.
Once a vehicle is blacklisted, the owner becomes ineligible to avail essential government services such as insurance renewal, pollution certificate, and registration-related work.
The RTA has advised all vehicle owners with pending challans to immediately clear the dues at the RTO, Ferozepur, failing which strict action will be taken as per the Motor Vehicles Act.
The department has also appealed to the public to keep all vehicle documents—registration, insurance, pollution certificate, and driving licence—updated and easily accessible to avoid challans and legal complications.
