Patiala Police commits to fair, transparent, and peaceful elections—DIG Kuldeep Singh Chahal

Patiala Police held a flag march led by DIG Kuldeep Singh Chahal to demonstrate commitment to fair, transparent and peaceful Zila Parishad and Block Samiti Elections-2025. The march in village Baran on Sirhind Road was organized on Friday by SP Local Vaibhav Chaudhary and SP City Palwinder Singh Cheema.
DIG Kuldeep Singh Chahal said that in view of the instructions of the Punjab State Election Commission, voting will be held peacefully and peacefully in Patiala district and no mischievous element will be allowed to take the law into their hands.
DIG appealed to the voters to vote without any fear.
DIG Chahal explained that Patiala Police crafted a comprehensive security strategy for the upcoming Zila Parishad and Block Samiti elections—forces will fan out across the district, stationed in every block under the watchful command of SPs, DSPs, and fellow officers.
According to the DIG, extra security forces will fan out across the district—covering 30 highly sensitive polling stations and another 164 sensitive locations—all carefully identified by civil administration and police in accordance with the Punjab State Election Commission's directives.
He said that in order to stop the smuggling of illicit liquor, arms, drugs and illegal flow of cash to influence the elections from the neighboring districts of Patiala in Haryana, 24-hour inter-state joint checkpoints have been set up from December 12, besides patrolling and other necessary steps have also been taken.
On this occasion, SP Local Vaibhav Chaudhary said that along with completing all the security arrangements, around 3100 police officers and employees, including 207 non-gazetted officers, have been deployed by the district police for these elections. Apart from this, all SPs and DSPs have also been assigned the task of monitoring throughout the district.
SP City Palwinder Singh Cheema said that the purpose of this flag march is to convey the message to the voters that they should cast their votes without any fear and this flag march is also a strong message to the mischievous elements that they should stop their activities otherwise the police is ready to take strict action.
On this occasion, DSPs Satnam Singh and Jangjit Singh Randhawa along with the heads of the police stations and a large number of police force were present.
