Kapurthala/Subhanpur, December 18, 2025: Under the Punjab government’s ongoing anti-drug drive “Yudh Nashian Virudh”, the civil and police administration on Wednesday demolished an illegal structure belonging to a woman drug smuggler, which had been constructed on panchayat land in village Lakhan Khole, under Subhanpur police station.
Acting on the orders of the BDPO Nadala, the administration took action against Jagir Kaur alias Billo, wife of Kishan Singh, a resident of Lakhan Khole, for illegally encroaching upon panchayat land and constructing a house.
Providing details, SSP Kapurthala Gaurav Toora said that as per the BDPO’s report, Jagir Kaur had encroached upon panchayat land while being actively involved in anti-social and drug trafficking activities. Despite repeated notices issued to vacate the illegal encroachment, she failed to comply, following which police assistance was sought to carry out the demolition.
The SSP further informed that Jagir Kaur alias Billo is facing as many as eight cases under the NDPS Act registered at different police stations. FIRs bearing numbers 30, 127, 183, 85 and 239 have been registered at Subhanpur police station, while FIR No. 33 has been registered at Bhogpur police station in Jalandhar district.
SSP Toora reiterated that in line with strict directions from the Punjab government, the district police is fully committed to eliminating drug trafficking. “No person involved in drug smuggling will be spared, and strict legal action will be taken against those who have amassed properties through illegal earnings,” he said, adding that the campaign against drug traffickers will continue with full force.
