Another soldier from Punjab martyred; CM Mann expresses grief, announces support

Chandigarh, December 27, 2025: Punjab has lost yet another brave son, plunging the state into deep mourning. Rajinder Singh, a valiant soldier from village Jhugge Gulab Singh in Fazilka district, attained martyrdom while serving the nation.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann expressed profound grief over the martyrdom and assured the bereaved family of all possible assistance from the state government.
Rajinder Singh was a resident of village Jhugge Gulab Singh, located near the India–Pakistan border in Fazilka district. He was serving with the Border Security Force (BSF) and was currently posted in Shillong, Meghalaya. According to information, he was martyred after sustaining a gunshot injury while on duty.
Expressing condolences, Chief Minister Mann said the supreme sacrifice made by Rajinder Singh would always be remembered with pride and honour. He extended his heartfelt sympathies to the martyr’s family and stated that the Punjab government stands firmly with them in this hour of grief.
The Chief Minister also announced that the state government will provide all entitled benefits and necessary support to the family of the martyr, reiterating that the courage and dedication of Punjab’s soldiers continue to inspire generations.
