Threat to life of Bikram Majithia a serious issue: High Court

Chandigarh, January 13, 2026: Punjab and Haryana High Court has termed threat to life of former Minister Bikram Singh Majithia a serious issue.
Hearing an urgent petition by his lawyer DS Sobti, Justice Jasgurpreet Singh Puri made this observation and posted the matter for further hearing on Tuesday January 13, 2026.
Sobti informed the court about letter written by ADGP Intelligence in which he has cited input by a Central Agency which has cautioned that Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) wants to target Bikram Singh Majithia. ADGP Intelligence has written to ADGP Jails and Special ADGP Security about the threat and urged them to take requisite precautionary measures.
High Court allowed Sobti to file a fresh application in the matter.
