Ferozepur, January 21, 2026: A training-cum-sensitisation programme was held today at the Conference Hall of the District Legal Services Authority, Ferozepur, in compliance with the directions of the Member Secretary, Punjab State Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar Mohali, under the Sahayata Behen Yojana (Sahayata Sister Scheme) for all women Para-Legal Volunteers (PLVs).
The event was conducted under the guidance of Sumeet Malhotra, District and Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman, DLSA Ferozepur. Ms. Anuradha, Chief Judicial Magistrate-cum-Secretary, DLSA Ferozepur, led the session as the key resource person.
The programme aimed to familiarize female Para-Legal Volunteers with the objectives and implementation of the Sahayata Behen Yojana, a scheme focused on empowering women through legal aid and support mechanisms under the legal services framework. Participants were provided detailed information on the activities to be undertaken under the scheme, including awareness, assistance, and outreach efforts for women in need of legal support.
Ms. Anuradha, Chief Judicial Magistrate-cum-Secretary, along with Ms. Neha, Panel Advocate, served as resource persons and delivered comprehensive insights, addressing queries and emphasizing the role of PLVs in effective scheme execution.
The training saw active participation from women PLVs, who engaged in discussions to enhance their understanding and capacity to implement the scheme at the grassroots level.
This initiative aligns with the broader efforts of the Punjab State Legal Services Authority and National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) to strengthen legal aid delivery, particularly for vulnerable sections of society, through trained volunteers.
