HONESTY ON TRACKS: Railway ticket checking staff return lost laptop to passenger
Ferozepur, January 27, 2026: Demonstrating a high sense of social responsibility and integrity, the ticket checking staff of the Firozpur Railway Division successfully recovered and returned a valuable laptop left behind by a passenger on the Vande Bharat Express (26462) travelling from Firozpur Cantt to Delhi.
On January 26, 2026, while performing their duties, ticket-checking staff members Sanjay Sah and B.L. Meena discovered a high-end laptop on seat number 71 of Coach C1. Realising the owner was missing, Sanjay Sah secured the device and utilised the Handheld Terminal (HHT) system to retrieve the passenger's contact details.
Upon being contacted, the passenger, Aman, revealed that he had travelled from Bathinda to Patiala but had accidentally left his laptop on the train in a hurry. He expressed great concern as the device contained critical personal and professional data.
Arrangements were made for the return journey, and the passenger was requested to meet at the Patiala station. After thorough verification, the laptop was safely handed back to him. Overwhelmed with gratitude, i Aman praised the Indian Railways and the ticket checking staff for their promptness and honesty.
Paramdeep Singh Saini, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager (Sr. DCM), lauded the act, stating that this incident reflects the loyalty, honesty, and commitment of railway employees toward passenger welfare. To honour this exemplary service, he announced Letters of Appreciation for the staff members to inspire others within the department to perform their duties with similar dedication.
