In a remarkable initiative aimed at boosting the morale of Punjab Police personnel, the first-ever Inter Range Punjab Police Cricket Tournament was successfully organized at the PAP Ground, Jalandhar.
The tournament was a refreshing break for police officers who are tirelessly engaged in the Punjab Government’s anti-drug campaign, "Wage on Drugs," and the "War on Gangsters" operations.
This event highlighted the importance of physical activity and team spirit in maintaining mental well-being amidst demanding responsibilities.
The tournament was spearheaded by Additional Director General of Police, State Armed Police, Jalandhar, M.F. Farooqui, who played a pivotal role in bringing this idea to fruition.
A total of 17 teams participated in the competition, showcasing their sportsmanship and enthusiasm. The teams were strategically divided into four groups, and the tournament progressed through league matches, quarter-finals, semi-finals, and ultimately the grand finale.
The final match saw an intense battle between two deserving teams the Central Sports Office, Punjab Police, and the PAP cricket team.
Organized under the supervision of Deputy Inspector General of Police, Administration, PAP Inderbir Singh, the final match was nothing short of thrilling.
Both teams displayed exceptional cricketing skills and determination, making it an unforgettable contest for players and spectators alike.
Emerging victorious, the PAP cricket team clinched the trophy of the inaugural Inter Range Punjab Police Cricket Tournament. Their win was celebrated with great enthusiasm and served as a testament to their hard work and dedication throughout the competition.
The event concluded with an appreciation ceremony where nodal officers of all participating teams were honoured for their contributions to making the tournament a grand success.
This initiative not only encourages camaraderie among Punjab Police personnel but also provided them with an opportunity to unwind and recharge amidst their challenging duties.
