Legendary Singer Mohammed Rafi’s songs to resonate at ‘Rafi Nite’

Chandigarh, February 13, 2026: A grand musical evening ‘Rafi Nite’, dedicated to the legendary singer Mohammed Rafi, will be organised on February 14 at 5:00 pm at Tagore Theatre, Sector 18, Chandigarh, under the joint aegis of the Rafi Memorial Cultural Society and GB Realty. The special evening will feature soulful renditions of Mohammed Rafi’s evergreen songs.
Addressing a press conference at the Chandigarh Press Club, Sector 27, President of the Rafi Memorial Cultural Society, G.S. Grewal said that Mohammed Rafi was not just a singer but the very soul of Indian music.
Through ‘Rafi Nite,’ the society aims to carry forward his immortal legacy to the younger generation. He informed that internationally acclaimed singer Dr. Saurav Kishan (Chhota Rafi) and renowned Mumbai-based singer Sampada Goswami will mesmerize the audience with popular songs of Rafi Sahab. He also stated that the renowned corporate - GB Realty is supporting the event.
Jatinder Bajwa, Vice President, GB Realty, said that the company is not limited to real estate alone, but promoting art and culture is an important part of its corporate social responsibility. Events like ‘Rafi Nite’ provide positive energy and cultural enrichment to society. He added that Gurinder Bhatti, Chairman of GB Realty, will be present as the Guest of Honour during the event.
General Secretary of the Society, Bal Mukand Sharma, informed that the Chief Guest of the programme will be Harpal Singh Cheema, Minister for Finance, Excise, Taxation and Planning, Government of Punjab. He said that the Rafi Memorial Cultural Society was formed in 2019 and has successfully organized six Rafi-themed programmes so far in Patiala and Chandigarh.
On this occasion, Dr. S.K. Batish, Senior Vice President of the Society, said that Rafi Sahab’s singing was a unique confluence of emotion and melody and the society’s objective is to keep his musical legacy alive.
The star performer of the evening, Dr. Saurav Kishan (Chhota Rafi), while interacting with the media, informed that he is an MBBS doctor, and that Rafi Sahab’s songs are his life’s devotion. Performing at ‘Rafi Nite,’ he said, is both an honour and an emotional experience for him.
General Secretary Bal Mukand Sharma further informed that entry to the programme will be free, with seating available on a first-come, first-served basis. He appealed to music lovers to arrive early and enjoy this memorable musical evening, which will last for nearly three hours.
