₹1.65 Crore grant released to 33 unanimously elected Panchayats in Ferozepur Urban Constituency
Ferozepur, February 19, 2026: The Punjab Government has released a grant of ₹1.65 crore to 33 village panchayats of the Ferozepur Urban Assembly constituency that were elected unanimously, setting an example of unity and harmony. This was stated by Ferozepur Urban MLA Ranbir Singh Bhullar while distributing cheques of ₹5 lakh each to the elected panchayats.
Congratulating the villagers and the elected representatives, the MLA said that an amount of ₹5 lakh has been directly credited to the account of each panchayat. He added that the funds would be utilised for development works based on local needs, including strengthening basic infrastructure, construction and repair of streets and drains, sanitation, and other essential civic amenities.
Bhullar expressed confidence that the grant would accelerate the pace of development in villages and reiterated his commitment to ensuring that the benefits of development reach all sections of society.
On the occasion, the sarpanches and panches present thanked the MLA and said the grant would prove highly beneficial in carrying out much-needed development works in their respective villages. They added that this recognition would further motivate them to work collectively for the overall progress of their villages.
A large number of panches, sarpanches, and other prominent residents from various villages were present during the event.
