CRPF bulletproof vehicle falls into canal in Srinagar, 7 jawans injured

Srinagar (J-K), February 21, 2026: Seven personnel of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were injured after their bulletproof bunker vehicle skidded off the road and fell into a canal in the Dagpora area of Srinagar on Saturday, officials said.
According to officials, the accident occurred on Umar Hayer–Dagpora Road in Ahmed Nagar when the driver of the bulletproof (BP) vehicle reportedly lost control, causing it to veer off the road and plunge into a water canal.
All the injured jawans were immediately rushed to the Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS), Soura, for treatment.
The injured personnel have been identified as Naginder Singh (36), Ajit Kumar Ram (36), Raj Kishore Rai (40), Amit Kumar Yadav (38), Rajdhan Ram (55), Mankar Kumar (40), and Neeraj Kumar (45).
Officials said the injured soldiers sustained multiple injuries; however, their condition is stated to be stable.
