Patiala (Punjab), February 24, 2026: Panjab Digital Library, in collaboration with the Punjab State Archives, is presenting the 14th display of its curated exhibition titled “The Sikh Empire (1710–1849): Perspectives by International Artists & Authors” at the Patiala Heritage Festival 2026.
The exhibition is being hosted at Banasar Ghar, Sheesh Mahal, Patiala, from February 21 to March 2, 2026, and is open to visitors daily from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Set against the historic backdrop of the Sheesh Mahal complex, the exhibition features rare original archival materials highlighting international artistic and literary engagements with Panjab and the Sikh Empire.
The display includes historic artworks, original documents, and lesser-known global perspectives that capture the political, cultural, and social dimensions of the era.
Curated by interns of Panjab Digital Library from the United States and Panjab, the exhibition creates a distinctive bridge between past and present by placing invaluable heritage materials within a royal historical setting.
Organisers stated that this marks another significant milestone in the Library’s continued efforts to preserve endangered heritage and make it accessible to broader audiences. The institution has digitized over 100 million pages, making it the largest repository dedicated to Panjab’s history and culture in the world.
The exhibition is open to scholars, researchers, students, historians, artists, and members of the general public.
