Chandigarh, February 24, 2026: Haryana Health Minister Arti Singh Rao on Monday announced that 450 new doctors will soon be recruited across the state, reaffirming the government’s commitment to strengthening healthcare services and ensuring there is no shortage of medical professionals.
Responding to a question during the discussion on the Governor’s Address in the Budget Session of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha, the Minister said the state government has already recruited more than 1,400 doctors within a year — a figure she described as unprecedented compared to the period before 2014.
She informed the House that 150 specialist doctors have been appointed under the National Health Mission (NHM) during the tenure of the present government.
In addition, 150 newly qualified postgraduate doctors are set to be recruited soon. The process of appointing doctors and specialists will continue in the coming months to meet healthcare demands across districts.
Rao emphasized that doctors will be deployed wherever required to ensure balanced distribution of medical staff throughout Haryana.
Highlighting preventive healthcare measures, the Minister also noted that the state government is promoting yoga in line with the vision of Narendra Modi.
She said yoga assistants are being appointed in every village to encourage healthier lifestyles and improve overall public well-being.
