Army, Navy, Air Force Teams Clash in 72nd Inter-Services Hockey Championship at Jalandhar
Jalandhar, March 8, 2026: The 72nd Inter-Services Hockey Championship 2025–26 will be held from 09 to 13 March 2026 at the Vajra Astroturf Hockey Stadium, Army Hockey Node (AHN), Jalandhar, under the aegis of the Army Sports Control Board.
Four teams — Army Red, Army Green, Indian Navy and Indian Air Force will compete in the tournament, bringing together some of the finest hockey players from the Services. The championship will conclude with the Final Match and the Closing ceremony on 13 March 2026.
The Inter – Service Hockey Championship is among the premiere sporting events of the Armed Forces and serves as an important platform for identifying and nurturing talented players who go on to represent the services at the National and International level.
The opening ceremony will be inaugurated by Lt Gen Ajay Chandpuria, AVSM, VSM, GOC, Vajra Corps, in the presence of senior military officers, Troops, Veteran Hockey Players and Officials from the Punjab Government and Indian hockey Fraternity.
The Championship aims to promote Physical Fitness, Teamwork and Sporting Excellence, while strengthening Inter-Service camaraderie through Healthy Competition. The Army Hockey Node, proudly located at the Birth place of Indian Hockey at Jalandhar, continues to play a pivotal role in nurturing elite hockey talent within the Services through a scientific and well institutionalized training curriculum and competitive exposure.
The event will to attract hockey enthusiasts, veterans and sports lovers from across the Region, celebrating the enduring legacy of Services Hockey and its contribution to the National Sporting landscape.
