Fatehgarh Sahib, March 28, 2026:In a major boost to grassroots healthcare, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Friday dedicated 109 new ‘Aam Aadmi Clinics’ to the people of the state, taking the total number of such clinics in Punjab to 990.
The clinics were inaugurated during a special event in Sirhind, aimed at strengthening doorstep healthcare services and ensuring accessible, affordable medical facilities for all sections of society.
Addressing the gathering, CM Bhagwant Mann described the clinics as a “boon for the common people,” highlighting that they provide free medicines, diagnostic tests, and quality medical consultations. He said the government’s vision is to deliver world-class healthcare services to every village and urban neighbourhood. So far, crores of people have benefitted from these clinics across the state, he added.
Mann noted that earlier, people—especially from economically weaker sections—had to visit large hospitals even for minor ailments. “Now, quality healthcare is available close to their homes,” he said, adding that Punjab’s healthcare model is now being widely discussed across the country.
With the addition of 109 new facilities, the state has moved closer to its target of crossing 1,000 Aam Aadmi Clinics, marking another milestone in strengthening Punjab’s healthcare infrastructure.
Speaking on the occasion, Arvind Kejriwal said that the clinics are not only being established but are also closely monitored to ensure efficient functioning. He stated that the Chief Minister’s Office keeps direct oversight of each clinic to ensure there is no shortage of medicines or doctors.
Kejriwal also asserted that despite challenges and opposition, the government remains committed to continuing development in Punjab. He criticised previous governments for neglecting public healthcare and said that, in contrast, the current administration has ensured that people receive quality treatment free of cost through these clinics.
Officials said the initiative is playing a crucial role in transforming primary healthcare delivery in Punjab, making essential medical services more accessible and reducing the burden on major hospitals.
