Lifestyle Workshop on Floral Waste Management Conducted under ‘The Green Carnival’
Ferozepur, 2nd April 2026: A Lifestyle Workshop on Floral Waste Management under its flagship Environment Education Programme, ‘The Green Carnival’, aimed at promoting sustainable practices and environmental awareness among youth, was organised at Shaheed Bhagat Singh State University by Mayank Foundation.
The workshop commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp in the esteemed presence of Dr Suresh Sharma, Vice Chancellor, and Dr Gazalpreet Singh, Registrar.
A hands-on training session was conducted for the students of the university, where 150 students participated enthusiastically. The workshop focused on the innovative concept of converting temple floral waste into eco-friendly products such as organic incense sticks and cones.
The training session was expertly conducted by Dr Rajan Sharma and Prof. Mini Sharma, who demonstrated the process of transforming discarded flowers into value-added products using natural ingredients like wood powder, flower powder, jigat powder, and guar gum. The session highlighted the importance of adopting a circular economy approach, emphasising waste-to-wealth practices, sustainable resource utilisation, and green entrepreneurship.
Project Chairman Kamal Sharma shared valuable insights about the initiative and emphasised the need for adopting eco-conscious lifestyles and sustainable waste management techniques in everyday life.
This initiative not only provided practical exposure to students but also inspired them to explore environmentally responsible innovations and entrepreneurial opportunities.
All participating students were presented with “The Green Gift” as a token of encouragement and appreciation.
