Agri Deptt invites farmers to apply for subsidy on Crop Residue Management Machinery
Ferozepur, April 7, 2026: The Agriculture Department has invited applications from farmers to avail a subsidy on agricultural machinery used for crop residue management, particularly paddy straw.
Chief Agriculture Officer Dr Balwinder Singh informed that under the Punjab Government’s initiative, subsidies ranging from 50% to 80% are being provided on various farm machines. Farmers can submit their applications online through the official portal (agrimachinerypb.com) by April 24, 2026, till 5:00 PM.
CAO urged farmers across the district to take maximum benefit of the scheme to help eliminate the practice of stubble burning and reduce environmental pollution. He added that interested farmers can also contact their respective Block Agriculture Officers or the office of the Chief Agriculture Officer for further guidance.
The machinery covered under the scheme includes balers, rakes, happy seeders, smart seeders, super seeders, zero till drills, reversible ploughs, paddy straw choppers/shredders/mulchers, crop reapers, shrub masters/rotary slashers, and Super SMS attachments for combines.
He further stated that applicants must upload scanned copies of required documents, including Aadhaar card, passport-size photograph, and Scheduled Caste certificate (if applicable), while submitting the application.
After receiving applications, eligible beneficiaries will be selected as per guidelines, and if required, through a draw system. Approval letters will be issued online, following which farmers can purchase machinery from authorised manufacturers or dealers listed on the portal within the stipulated time.
Dr Balwinder Singh also advised farmers to stay in regular contact with the Agriculture Department for updates and assistance. He emphasised the importance of using available machinery effectively to manage crop residue and protect the environment.
