National Workshop on “Computer Interfaced Experiments Using X-PHI 17” held at DSCW
Ferozepur, April 7, 2026: The Postgraduate Department of Physics at Dev Samaj College for Women successfully organised a national workshop on the topic “Computer-Interfaced Experiments Using X-PHI 17”. The workshop proved to be an enriching and inspiring experience for students, encouraging them to explore the practical aspects of science and develop innovative thinking.
The workshop aimed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical learning by introducing students to modern experimental techniques. Around 60 students participated enthusiastically and remained actively engaged throughout the session.
The program commenced with a formal welcome to the chief guest and resource person by Principal Dr Sangeeta Sharma, who honoured him with a phulkari, a memento, and a planter. In her address, she emphasised the importance of experiment-based learning in today’s scientific era, stating that practical exposure is essential alongside theoretical knowledge for the holistic development of students.
The keynote speaker and resource person, Engineer V.V.V. Satyanarayanan from the Inter-University Accelerator Centre, delivered an insightful session on the X-PHI 17 device. He demonstrated various scientific experiments using the equipment and provided hands-on training to students. His interactive approach helped students understand complex physics concepts in a simple and effective manner, sparking curiosity and interest in scientific exploration.
During the workshop, students gained not only technical knowledge about the equipment but also practical experience by performing experiments themselves. This hands-on exposure enhanced their analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
On the occasion, Principal Dr Sangeeta Sharma highlighted that such initiatives significantly boost students’ confidence and prepare them to face future challenges.
